How I paint
I explain my way of painting pictures
To create a painting, I start by working on studies on a computer. I end up with a canvas project from which I draw inspiration to paint the work on a canvas stretched on a frame. Most of the time, the rendering of colors and shapes
differs when painted on a large format, so I allow myself a lot of freedom in the execution of the painting compared to the initial study. This way of working is not very different from that of the Renaissance painters who made studies
on small format paper. When they arrived at a definitive rendering, they drew a grid on the sheet, then to scale on the canvas or the wall. They then transferred their drawing onto this support. Today, we have fantastic computers
and virtual painting software. So why not use them if we have a way of painting that is considered and not spontaneous?
